June 7 – October 29, 2017, Yarat Art Center, Baku, Azerbaijan
Exhibition of 16 artists at YARAT Contemporary Art Space — the first to bring together artists from across three generations of the Kazakhstan art scene, from those rooted in Moscow conceptualism to an emerging generation. The show addressed Kazakhstan's national history from post-colonial perspectives, deconstructing romanticized images of the country as a vast, largely unpopulated geography.
