Cosmonauts, 2021, Oil on canvas, 200.0 cm × 200.0 cm

Nurakhmet developed Cosmonauts from photographs of protesters being carried by soldiers in camouflage. Removing the soldiers from his studies left the remaining figures suspended in space, turning an image of force into one of apparent weightlessness.
